About Greek Fest

Greek Fest offers traditional Greek dinners, desserts, wine & spirits, crafts and live Greek music and dancing. “The Athenians”, the Portland-based Greek band featuring Maria George and Brett Pitner performed in 2014. The menu includes stuffed grape leaves (dolmas), pasticcio, kifta kebabs, pork souvlaki, braised lamb with carrots and potatoes, spanakopita, and Moroccan chicken. Complete dinners served with Greek salad, rice pilaf, and pita bread are priced at $12 for two entrees, or $14 for three entrees. A la carte, to-go items and Greek desserts are available, and there is a “taverna” in the tent serving appetizers, Greek red wine, beer, ouzo and retsina. Desserts include baklava, kourambiethes (butter cookies), galatoboureko (custard-filled filo drizzled with honey syrup), and melamakorona (honey cakes).

About the Chef

Lewisburg Hall private chef Mona Karadsheh Soot heads up the culinary production for the yearly event. Ms. Soot and her staff have extensive experience preparing and serving gourmet meals from Greece and the Middle East.
